Genetic connectivity in Twospot flounder (Bothus robinsi) across the Gulf of Mexico, inferred with single nucleotide polymorphisms from larvae and adults

چکیده
Larval genetic information influences populations’ pools, causing homogenization or structuration. So, knowing about adult and larval is essential to understand processes such as connectivity. The aims are evaluate Twospot flounder ( Bothus robinsi , a fish with high dispersal potential) pools’ diversity, test if the larvae tend mix display collective dispersal, compare between adults its We used ddRADSEQ genotype 1,034 single nucleotide polymorphic sites from B. sampled in waters Bay of Campeche eastern Gulf Mexico (GOM) on Florida’s continental shelf. Larvae were identified morphologically by DNA barcoding. estimated Fst-paired comparations, Principal Components Analysis (PCA), Discriminant Analyses (DAPC), Structure analysis trends. With software COLONY, we made sibship evaluation. observed no significant heterogeneity among regions (Fst p-values>0.05). PCA, DAPC, showed one cluster, indicating homogeneity. did not detect full-sibs half-sibs. linked results potential due long pelagic duration ocean dynamics transport all GOM shelf areas. These findings suggest that large enough produce connectivity subpopulations time spent pathways different subpopulations, panmictic population.

Genetic diversity of Eurycoma longifolia inferred from single nucleotide polymorphisms.
Eurycoma longifolia Jack. is a treelet that grows in the forests of Southeast Asia and is widely used throughout the region because of its reported medicinal properties. Widespread harvesting of wild-grown trees has led to rapid thinning of natural populations, causing a potential decrease in genetic diversity among E. longifolia. Suitable genetic markers would be very useful for propagation an...

Investigation of fimH Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (C640T and T591A) in Uropathogenic E. coli Isolated from Patients with Urinary Tract Infections
Background: Urinary tract infections are one of the most frequent health problems and Uropathogenic Escherichia coli is the major pathogen resulting UTIs. The severity of UTIs is caused by the expression of a large range of virulence factors. In this study, we evaluated the allelic frequency fimH gene, in UPECs isolated from patients with UTIs. This study also aimed to determine the roles of C64...

Habitat associations of dolphinfish larvae in the Gulf of Mexico
The aim of this study was to investigate the role of the northern Gulf of Mexico (Gulf) as essential habitat of common dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus) and pompano dolphinfish (C. equiselis) during early life and to characterize conditions in which they were found. Eight ichthyoplankton surveys were conducted during the summer months from 2007 to 2010 in northern Gulf waters off Texas and Loui...
